Long Lake Community Boating and Sailing Program • Register • View Cart •

The Long Lake Community Boating and Sailing and Program integrates classroom instruction with  hands-on experiences to impart sailing, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding skills to children. Throughout this immersive program, participants will acquire vital safety skills and foundational knowledge in boating, encompassing aspects such as boat anatomy, the science of sailing, knot tying, basic navigation, seamanship, rigging, de-rigging, and survival techniques. Ample opportunities are provided for children to apply their technical knowledge on the water, whether in a sailboat, canoe, kayak, or on a paddle board.

Open to ages 7 to 15, with exceptions possible.  Our program spans a one-week session following the guidelines of the US Sailing Small Boat Sailor Certification System. Enrollment is limited, with a maximum of 20 children per week.  Students will have the opportunity learn about and sail Sunfish, O’Penn Skiffs & 420s.

Each day, participants are expected to come prepared with their own supplies, ensuring they have the necessary equipment for their chosen water activity. Parents are encouraged to ensure their child brings the required materials as outlined:





  • Type 3 Coast Guard Approved Lifejacket


  • Mask


  • Water bottle


  • Lunch


  • Sunscreen


  • Personal hand sanitizer


  • Pen or pencil


  • Colored pencils or crayons


  • Notebook


  • Change of clothes


  • Towel





Program hours are from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Thursday, Friday is a built-in rain day.   

Before and After Care registration is available thru Camp T, separate registration.  Sailing students will be transported from Shaker Lane to the Lake by the Sailing Coordinator. 

5th day option: If we do not have sailing on Friday (rain day) your child can join Teen Adventures or Camp T on their Weekly Field Trip for $100, the cost of supervision, transportation and admission! Call to Register, 978.540.2490.

Due the dependence on weather this will be a weekly decision.  Permission slips will be handed out on Tuesdays and sign-up and payment will be due on Wednesday at drop off to the the sailing coordinator.

Before and/or After Care is available to participants of Camp Tahattawan, Teen Adventures and Sailing Camp!  Before and after care drop-off and pick-up will be housed at Shaker Lane School.  Location for Teen Adventures and Sailing is subject to change based on enrollment. 
 
All BEFORE and AFTER CARE fees are due upon registration! Additional 10% sibling discount will be applied at checkout.
