Tennis Summer Clinics w/Tennis Pro Jon Murch
Instructor: Jon Murch has been a USPTR certified tennis professional for over 30 years. He played tennis in college for nationally ranked Division 3 Skidmore, he also played soccer. In addition to teaching tennis for both Nike and Adidas camps early in his career, he more recently taught at clubs around Boston and New York City. He currently is a 7th grade history teacher in Sudbury where he has been the head coach for Lincoln-Sudbury’s golf and tennis teams, being named Boston Globe coach of the year twice. Jon is also a Littleton Resident and father!
Program Description:
Lessons will focus on court movement, footwork and groundstrokes in particular. As the week progresses, we will continue to hone students' basic skills while introducing new parts of the game, most notably the overhead and other specialty shots. Players will also start to learn how to play matches and keep score. If possible, more complicated strategy and more sophisticated shotmaking will be covered, but most importantly, tennis is a game that can be played for a lifetime so our biggest emphasis will be on having fun! Ages 8-13 welcome, 6-12 player limit per session.
