Instructor: David Beese

Bio: David has his BA in mathematics. Currently, an IT consultant specializing in DevOps and infrastructure automation. David has extensive experience in Unix/Linux, programming in C, Python, and many other languages, and is a strong open-source proponent.

Program Description: Learn how to install and use GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). We will focus on basic operations and look at the various tools, toolboxesGIMP Image and other features available. Some more advanced features like layers will also be covered as time allows. This 2-Day Workshop has 2 levels of interest. Intro & Intermediate levels to appeal to most user abilities. 
Day 1 - Will be going over the GIMP Program, ensuring it's installed correctly, and going over the basics of the program.
Day 2 - You'll spend the week taking pictures and using the software on your own. When you come back in David will go over your work. Get tips on improving your work and learning new features. You'll use the photos you took and edit them into masterpieces.  

Participant Requirements: Basic computer proficiency. A laptop to bring to class to install and experiment with GIMP, with modern, supported operating system (Windows, Mac, or Linux). Before the program starts we will have the instructor touch base to ensure your laptop is appropriate for the program.
