Intro to Cross Country (YOUTH)

Ted Painter is an RRCA and USATF certified running coach and Littleton High School Cross Country and Track & Field running coach (League and District champions, 3rd place State Championship finishers). The Introduction to Cross Country course will occur on the 6 consecutive Saturdays between 9/10-10/22. This course is intended to introduce 4th, 5th and 6th graders to the sport of Cross Country and to foster an interest and enjoyment of running on trails and in the woods. Sessions will focus on running form, cross country running techniques and will include runs of up to two miles in length. Sessions will begin and end at various Town of Littleton trail heads (parking lots) and conservation areas including Prouty Woods (Fay Park), Long Lake, Hartwell, Yapp, Nagog, and Newtown Hill. Prerequisites: Be able to run at least 2 miles.
Prerequisites: Participants should be accustomed to a relatively active lifestyle that includes outdoor activities and should be able to run/jog two to three miles without stopping.
Session I: Saturdays 9:00am-10:00am 9/10 - 10/15
Location: Will be a different location every week for optimal trail running experience!
