Youth Cross Country
Instructor:  Ted Painter
Ted Painter is an RRCA and USATF certified running coach and Littleton High School Cross Country and Track & Field running coach (League and District champions, 3rd place State Championship finishers). He has run over 40 marathons and ultra marathons and has qualified for and run in the last ten consecutive Boston Marathons.

This course is intended to introduce 4th, 5th and 6th graders to the sport of Cross Country and to foster an interest and enjoyment of running on trails and in the woods. Sessions will focus on proper warm up and cool down techniques, running form, cross country running techniques, an introduction to strength and conditioning exercises for runners and will include runs of up to two miles in length (distance may vary based on the ability of the group).
Prerequisites:  Participants should be accustomed to a relatively active lifestyle that includes outdoor activities and should be able to run/jog two to three miles without stopping.

Sundays 10/10- 11/14 

Location:  Fay Park/Prouty Woods Trails/Russell St. Track.  Other Littleton trails may also be used.
